On July 9, 2024, the EC-PAC New Energy Commercial Vehicle Performance Evaluation Competition kicked off in Chongqing Science City. The event saw fierce competition among 25 models from 23 leading automakers. BYD Commercial Vehicles emerged as the biggest winner, capturing six awards with their robust technology and product strength.

Among the accolades, the BYD pure electric light truck T5EV received the Energy Efficiency Award, Range Award, and Power Award in the 4.5-ton category. The pure electric bus B8 won the Energy Efficiency Award, Range Award, and All-Round Award in the 8-9 meter segment.

This competition marked the first time truck products were included, providing a comprehensive assessment of the technological advancements in China’s new energy commercial vehicle sector. BYD’s newly launched T5EV excelled in categories such as energy consumption, range, smoothness, acceleration, and noise, thanks to its advanced technology.

As a new generation city logistics vehicle, the T5EV boasts a range exceeding 275 kilometers. It offers enhanced reliability, convenience, comfort, intelligence, and technological features. With higher energy efficiency and lower energy consumption, it can cover over 100 kilometers on a 30-minute charge, unlocking more business opportunities.


The T5EV’s success is attributed to BYD’s new energy light truck platform architecture, equipped with core tri-electric technology and leading features like BSC braking and ESC. This enabled it to achieve a grand slam in its category. Additionally, the BYD B8, which won the All-Round Award in the 8-9 meter segment, showcased exceptional performance. As a key model in BYD’s urban bus lineup, the B8 combines power efficiency, safety, and versatility, making it a top choice for green urban transportation.

Through this competition, BYD not only showcased its latest products but also engaged in technical exchanges with other top industry players.
