On August 8, FAW Jiefang released its production and sales report for July 2024. From January to July, the company produced 154,590 vehicles, representing a year-over-year growth of 2.39%. The total vehicle sales reached 168,269 units, marking a 16.8% increase compared to the same period last year. Among these, medium and heavy-duty truck sales amounted to 136,948 units, a 12.6% increase, securing a 26% market share in the terminal market for medium and heavy trucks and maintaining the top industry position.
July was a particularly strong month for FAW Jiefang, setting new production and sales milestones. The 60 millionth vehicle from China FAW and the 9 millionth Jiefang truck officially rolled off the production line. Additionally, the Jiefang J7 Chuangling technology platform was launched, driving new advancements in product performance. The J7 Chuangling TIR cross-border transport long-distance test was also initiated, thoroughly testing the capabilities of Jiefang’s products.
Accelerating the Green and Smart Transformation in New Energy Sector
FAW Jiefang is accelerating its transition towards smart and green technologies. The company is speeding up its hydrogen energy industry layout in research and development, production capacity, ecosystem, and product lines. Recently, 40 new energy tractor-trailers were delivered in bulk to Hami, Xinjiang, and 1,000 pure electric heavy-duty trucks were successfully handed over to major customers in Xinjiang, providing new momentum for high-quality local logistics development.
Expanding Global Reach
FAW Jiefang is also accelerating its global market penetration, actively exploring Southeast Asian and African markets. The company signed a memorandum of cooperation for exporting 1,200 heavy-duty trucks with a well-known Indonesian logistics group, and delivered 21 tractor-trailers to the China Railway Ninth Group’s diversified operations center in Zambia. These efforts have further enhanced the competitiveness and brand influence of FAW Jiefang products.
In its ongoing development, FAW Jiefang continues to shoulder the responsibility of high-quality and sustainable development. The company has been selected for two consecutive years on the “China ESG Listed Company Pioneer 100” list.
