On this world-class commercial vehicle stage, whether in terms of technology releases or vehicle exhibitions, European and American companies have typically dominated. However, at this year’s exhibition, FTXT showcased its comprehensive long-distance hydrogen-powered logistics solutions and supply chain systems. This not only highlighted the strength and appeal of Chinese hydrogen energy enterprises but also may have signaled China’s leadership in the new energy commercial vehicle sector, particularly in the hydrogen energy industry.

Comprehensive Long-Distance Hydrogen Logistics Solutions Garner Attention at Hannover

In order to provide global commercial vehicle customers with efficient, reliable, and green power solutions for long-haul heavy-duty transport, FTXT presented its “Comprehensive Long-Distance Hydrogen Logistics Solution” at the 2024 IAA, tailored to meet the specific needs of medium- and long-distance heavy-duty transportation scenarios.

For instance, for mid-distance (300km~500km) heavy-duty transport, FTXT offers a customized solution featuring a “120kW fuel cell system + 35MPa/70MPa high-pressure Type IV hydrogen cylinder.” This solution is specifically designed for fast hydrogen refueling, high efficiency, and low energy consumption in mid-distance transport, ensuring the vehicle’s cost-effectiveness in both acquisition and operation, as well as its reliability during mid-distance journeys. For long-distance scenarios (500km~1000km and beyond) involving heavy loads, FTXT provides a comprehensive “255kW high-power fuel cell system + large-capacity ultra-low temperature liquid hydrogen storage system” solution. This system, with its exceptional power performance and high energy density, offers an ideal power source for heavy-duty commercial vehicles, ensuring outstanding range capabilities.

Notably, FTXT breakthroughs in liquid hydrogen technology, particularly in ultra-low temperature and high-flow transmission technologies, have significantly enhanced the efficiency of hydrogen storage and transportation, improving the overall efficiency, safety, and reliability of hydrogen energy utilization. This provides valuable insights and experience for the global scale-up and commercialization of liquid hydrogen technology.

Previously, FTXT launched the “Jupiter” onboard liquid hydrogen storage system, with a single hydrogen cylinder capable of storing more than 80kg of hydrogen. The system’s mass-based hydrogen storage density exceeds 8wt%, enabling a range of over 1,000km. It has successfully passed critical tests, such as drop and vibration tests, at authoritative institutions like the China Aerospace Research Institute and the China Special Equipment Inspection and Research Institute. Paired with Great Wall Motors’ “New Long March 1 Liquid Hydrogen Heavy Truck,” this system has completed full-route testing and verification, demonstrating its high energy density and efficient storage and transportation performance, offering robust support for long-distance hydrogen-powered commercial vehicle transport.

Leading the Hydrogen Energy Revolution, Supporting Global Green Commercial Vehicle Transition

It is worth noting that, in addition to FTXT‘s presence in the hydrogen energy sector, other European vehicle manufacturers, such as Daimler Trucks and MAN, also showcased their hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles at the 2024 IAA. Without a doubt, as governments around the world prioritize emission reduction goals, the potential of the hydrogen market is gradually being recognized.

Leveraging its cutting-edge hydrogen technology, FTXT continues to drive product innovation, reflecting its deep expertise in hydrogen energy research and development. These hydrogen products not only significantly extend vehicle range but also achieve breakthroughs in power performance and environmental benefits.

More importantly,FTXT ‘s early layout and research have resulted in a more comprehensive industrial chain and richer operational experience. To date, FTXT has established a world-class “production-storage-transport-refueling-application” integrated industrial chain development model. By integrating global resources and technological innovation, it achieves “end-to-end” collaborative development, production, and supply, enhancing the efficiency, stability, and responsiveness of its supply chain to meet global market demands. This enables it to deliver high-quality, efficient hydrogen energy solutions and promote the growth and commercialization of the hydrogen industry.

In terms of hydrogen technology application and demonstration operations, FTXT collaborates with terminal customers in the industrial chain, promoting hydrogen-powered vehicles in more than ten cities across China. Actively participating in hydrogen refueling stations, hydrogen highways, and other infrastructure development, FTXT has verified the economic feasibility of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles through diverse models, scenarios, and fields. This has established a high-quality “market ecosystem,” setting a benchmark for the large-scale commercialization of hydrogen in sectors like transportation.

Thanks to this leadership position, FTXT signed a “Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Technology and Education Cooperation” during the 2024 IAA with Politecnico di Bari, PLD ARTECH S.R.L, and TecHi Hydrogen Testing. The four parties will conduct joint scientific research on the technical demonstration, industrial incubation, advanced testing, and technology evaluation of fuel cell (FC)-powered heavy-duty commercial vehicles, as well as cultivate talent and promote technical exchanges in the hydrogen energy sector, driving innovation and development in hydrogen technology.
