“Achieve better performance at a lower cost, with stronger power, superior fuel efficiency, and a more advanced driving experience, meeting users’ needs to reduce costs and improve efficiency in the new logistics era.” Recently, the Auman Galaxy 7 heavy-duty truck was unveiled at Foton’s X Lab. This new premium model follows the launch of the Galaxy 9 in August, marking another addition to Auman’s line of luxury trucks. The new truck, developed based on the Galaxy Smart Architecture, meets demands for high-end, ultra-efficient, and value-focused operations.
Efficient Power and One-Touch Economy Mode
This year, China’s economy has remained stable overall, with logistics demand steadily rising and the logistics market growth accelerating. However, logistics companies continue to face cost pressures and operational challenges, impacting the industry’s core competitiveness and economic efficiency. Many logistics company executives point out that reducing costs and increasing efficiency is not only crucial for their own growth but also essential for promoting high-quality development in the logistics sector. Choosing efficient, fuel-saving transport vehicles plays a key role in achieving these goals.

The Auman Galaxy 7 is equipped with the Super Power Chain 5.0, featuring comprehensive upgrades to the Foton Cummins engine and ZF transmission, along with a new vehicle VCU (Vehicle Control Unit) that enables deeper data interaction with the engine ECU and transmission TCU. This integrated control reduces fuel consumption by 10%, increases power by 16%, and enhances comfort by 17%.
To meet the diverse needs of users across all fields and functions, the diesel variant of the Auman Galaxy 7 offers engines ranging from 7 to 16 liters and horsepower from 240 to 680, suitable for various work conditions, including regional distribution, long-haul, and medium to long-distance transport. The gas-powered Galaxy 7 model also sees a full engine upgrade, with maximum horsepower at 630, set to reach 700 in the future. Additionally, the Galaxy 7 introduces an innovative EBP (Electronic Brake Power) switch, where the “B” mode automatically recognizes light, medium, or heavy load conditions based on road conditions and vehicle status. In special scenarios, drivers can manually select “E” or “P” modes, allowing for multi-purpose use. The vehicle also achieves industry-leading high-precision predictive driving over distances of up to 5 km, optimizing speed, gear shifting, braking, and thermal management, which reduces overall fuel consumption by 2% to 3%.

At the event, the Foton StarPower brand was also launched, featuring an extensive database of typical scenarios developed by Foton Auto in collaboration with Yuchai Power. This integrated vehicle-engine solution provides customized options for specific application scenarios. Foton StarPower includes diesel and gas engine platforms, with displacement covering the 8-15L range and maximum power reaching 700 hp. Diesel engines deliver a peak torque of 3,200 Nm, while gas engines offer up to 2,600 Nm, fully meeting the upgraded power needs of medium and heavy-duty trucks for long-distance and regional logistics markets.
Comfortable Design for Effortless Driving
For long-haul truck drivers, the truck becomes their home and the road their constant companion. Heavy-duty truck drivers, especially, often face extended driving hours, mental stress, and irregular routines, making their physical and mental well-being a top priority.

In response, Auman has continuously improved driving comfort to help reduce drivers’ workload. The newly released Galaxy 7 heavy-duty truck integrates comfort into every detail, with features like a D-shaped steering wheel to reduce chest and abdomen pressure during maneuvers. The ergonomically designed comfort seat aligns with the driver’s posture to alleviate pressure on the neck, waist, hips, and legs. The seat also offers massage, inflation, ventilation, and heating functions via the central control screen, allowing drivers to enjoy the journey.

Inside the cab, the Galaxy 7 is equipped with an ultra-wide lower bunk (1150mm), while the upper bunk can fold, freeing up headroom when standing and providing additional storage safety. The truck also features push-button start and a column-mounted shifter, enhancing interior accessibility and eliminating obstructions.

Beyond comfort, the Galaxy 7 boasts an appealing design. Its exterior features a vertical grille, making it the first Foton production model with this design. The truck has a slightly rearward-leaning stance with aerodynamic lines and large rounded edges from front to side, adding visual appeal and improving airflow for better, faster cooling. The geometric headlamps add technological sophistication, with low energy consumption and adaptive turning assistance, enhancing safety and ease of use.
