Relentless Innovation: Enhancing Operational Efficiency with Cutting-Edge Technology
The 2025 T5 features a product lineup of “pure electric + hybrid models,” with a large battery edition tailored to meet the diverse transport needs of urban and intercity logistics.
The hybrid model T5DM increases its battery capacity from 18.3 kWh to 55.39 kWh, while the pure electric T5EV now offers battery capacity options of 82/90/100/132 kWh. Product performance upgrades focus on enhancing operational efficiency, faster charging, and smarter management.
High Operational Efficiency:
The T5 simplifies vehicle preparation through remote control and precise route planning. Equipped with the DiLink system shared with BYD’s passenger vehicles, it allows voice control for a smart and safe driving experience. Its high-strength steel application and low rolling-resistance tires ensure load capacity while reducing resistance, achieving an overall energy consumption reduction of 7% through refined energy management. Additionally, the innovative BSC braking system for light trucks reduces accident rates and insurance costs effectively.
Efficient Charging:
With industry-leading direct cooling technology for batteries, the heat exchange efficiency improves by 18%, while cooling energy consumption decreases by 60%. Combined with battery performance upgrades, the T5 achieves 2C fast charging, enabling models requiring rapid recharging of 100 kWh or less to charge from 30% to 80% SOC in just 18 minutes. Optional VTOL mobile power stations with a maximum discharge power of 6 kW meet diverse user demands, offering a sedan-like design for enhanced driving comfort.
Smart Management:
The BYD Truck App allows remote truck control and status monitoring, enhancing maintenance efficiency with features such as maintenance-free leaf springs and EPS electronic steering. The fleet management system analyzes driver behavior to provide fuel-saving advice, helping users improve operational efficiency.
Li Qiao, Product Director of BYD Commercial Vehicle Research Institute’s Light Truck Division, emphasized that amidst product homogenization, BYD will continue to explore the value of new energy commercial vehicles through continuous technological and service innovation, driving the green transformation of urban logistics.
Integrated Sales and Service: Fully Embracing the New Energy Light Truck Market
As the market evolves, new energy light truck users still face challenges such as high insurance costs, steep loan interest rates, and expensive maintenance fees. Scenario-based development, a key direction in commercial vehicle evolution, aims to empower users in various transport scenarios. Wang Kejian, Marketing Director of BYD Commercial Vehicles Division, shared a series of initiatives to enhance user value.
To address high component claims and insurance difficulties, BYD leverages its wholly-owned insurance company to ensure no rejection of insurance claims, excellent service, and swift response times, offering worry-free insurance solutions. BYD Auto Finance is set to fully launch, alleviating users’ operational anxieties around loan difficulties and high monthly payments. Additionally, the integrated sales and service dealership model accelerates after-sales response times, resolving issues such as frequent vehicle breakdowns and high maintenance costs.
Moreover, at this appreciation event (Shenzhen-Dongguan-Foshan Stop), a series of promotional benefits were unveiled: From now until midnight on November 22, 2024, consumers placing a deposit of RMB 5,000 at authorized dealerships in Shenzhen, Dongguan, and Foshan will receive a “Wealth Creation Gift Package” worth RMB 15,000 and a “Smart Enjoyment Gift Package” valued at RMB 10,000.
