Beijing, China — May 29, 2025 — Volvo Group China recently announced the appointment of Mr. Francis Sum as President of Volvo Group China and Volvo Trucks China, with full responsibility for strategic planning and operational management of the Volvo Group and its truck brands in China.
Mr. Francis Sum has worked at the Volvo Group for over 24 years, holding senior management positions in multiple business units and possessing extensive experience in strategic planning and corporate management. He has served as President of Volvo Car Financial Services (China) Co., Ltd., Vice President of Volvo Financial Services Asia-Pacific, President of Volvo Construction Equipment China, Global Senior Vice President of the Volvo Group, and led the Group’s China strategy department. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Francis Sum has been responsible for the joint venture business between the Volvo Group and Dongfeng Group since 2019 and served as a director of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles Co., Ltd.

A Singaporean native, Mr. Francis Sum holds a master’s degree from the National University of Singapore. He has lived and worked in China for over 18 years and led multinational teams in multiple Asian countries.
