On November 10, China’s only national-level commercial vehicle exhibition – the 2025 China International Commercial Vehicle Show (CCVS, also known as the Wuhan Auto Show) – grandly opened at the Wuhan International Expo Center. With the theme of “High-end, Intelligent, Green”, this exhibition represents the “vane” of high-quality development in China’s commercial vehicle industry.
When it comes to intelligence and greenization, BYD Commercial Vehicles is indispensable. As the only enterprise globally mastering the entire industrial chain of new energy vehicles, including chips, batteries, motors, and electronic controls, BYD Commercial Vehicles relies on its strong technical reserves to continuously commit to the development of new energy commercial vehicles. At this year’s Wuhan Auto Show, BYD brought four core models: the all-new pure electric coupe truck T4, hybrid light truck T5, pure electric tractor Q3, and all-new bus C11, with numerous product highlights. Let’s start from “small to large”. On the far left of the booth, the T4 pure electric coupe truck attracts attention. This is an all-new pure electric coupe truck developed by BYD. It made its debut last month at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show (JMS 2025) under the name T35. Japan is the pioneer of the light truck category and has an extremely closed automotive market. Even so, the BYD T35 still attracted the attention of many commercial vehicle practitioners such as media and drivers.
The T4 pure electric coupe truck adopts BYD’s proud pure electric platform design, centered on CTC (Cell to Chassis) technology. As the name suggests, this technology integrates the battery and the vehicle frame into one, complementing each other. It not only provides better protection for the battery but also enhances the torsional rigidity of the frame, resulting in high driving stability and a solid riding experience.
The battery used in the T4 pure electric coupe truck is also BYD’s high-safety blade battery, featuring high energy density and extreme safety. With a capacity of 62.3kWh, it can achieve a CLTC pure electric range of 330 kilometers. The motor is a class-leading 150kW flat-wire motor with a peak torque of 340N·m, easily meeting the needs of climbing with a full load. In addition, the BYD T4 pure electric coupe truck is equipped with the industry’s first Lingxi electric brake-by-wire system, achieving millisecond-level response and safer braking.
The BYD T4 pure electric coupe truck adopts a refined passenger-car-style exterior design. Elements such as combined LED headlights and silver front grille trim help highlight the vehicle’s sophistication. The interior further follows passenger car design standards, equipped with a full LCD instrument panel, a central control screen, ventilated and heated seats, and optimized NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) with a noise level as low as 65 decibels, delivering a comfortable driving experience that lives up to its “coupe truck” name.
Next to the T4 pure electric coupe truck is one of BYD Commercial Vehicles’ star products: the T5 hybrid light truck. As BYD Commercial Vehicles’ first 4.5-ton light truck adopting DM hybrid technology, it focuses on urban logistics. With a full fuel and electric range of over 1,100 kilometers, it eliminates range anxiety even for intercity long-distance operations. In addition to the hybrid version, the BYD T5 also offers a pure electric version for regions with strict restrictions. The full-series lineup meets the dual needs of urban distribution and intercity transportation, receiving an excellent market response.
Benefiting from BYD’s “passenger and commercial vehicle development in parallel” strategy, the BYD T5 hybrid light truck inherits many passenger-car-level designs. Both its DM hybrid technology, comfortable interior, and striking exterior are significantly superior to peers. Overseas, the pure electric version of the BYD T5 is sold as the ETM6 in European countries such as the Netherlands, also gaining high praise. Domestically, it not only excels in the logistics industry but also “breaks through the circle”, being popular in industries such as recreational vehicles due to its advanced technology and comfortable riding experience.
Next to the T5 hybrid light truck, BYD Commercial Vehicles also brought a heavyweight model: the Q3 mountain version pure electric tractor. Tailored for short-distance transportation scenarios such as ports and mines, this model’s core demand is high-frequency, high-load, and high-intensity operation. To meet this demand, the BYD Q3 mountain version pure electric tractor is equipped with a 452kWh blade battery pack, achieving a comprehensive range of over 320 kilometers, and a dual-gun fast charging system with a maximum current of 600A, supporting all-day high-intensity operation.
Addressing mountainous operation needs, the BYD Q3 mountain version pure electric tractor is equipped with a central drive axle system, a high-speed motor, and a 4-speed gearbox to maximize the motor’s torque characteristics. The entire drive system has a maximum power of 550kW and a maximum full-load climbing rate of 30%, delivering excellent power performance. In addition to the domestic market, the BYD Q3 is also sold in international markets such as North America and Europe under the names ETH8 and 8TT, receiving equally high market evaluations.
Finally, we come to one of BYD Commercial Vehicles’ heavyweight new products: the C11 pure electric tourist bus. Targeting the pain points of traditional tourist buses, the BYD C11 solves them through technology. Built on BYD’s e-BUS platform 3.0, it adopts the world’s first bus CTC technology, deeply integrating the battery pack with the vehicle frame to enhance body torsional rigidity and significantly expand luggage compartment capacity. Moreover, the BYD C11 is equipped with the Yunnian-A suspension system, iTAC intelligent torque control system, and Tire Blowout Control (TBC) system, maximizing driving safety while suppressing adverse dynamics such as body nodding during braking and jolting. This improves passenger comfort and reduces motion sickness. Empowering safe and comfortable travel with technology is the core advantage of the BYD C11.
This is BYD Commercial Vehicles’ first participation in the Wuhan Auto Show. Although a “newcomer” to the show, BYD still delivered an impressive performance. Today, BYD is the only enterprise globally mastering the entire industrial chain of new energy vehicles, including chips, batteries, motors, and electronic controls, earning the title of “technology giant” in the industry. Reflected in products, BYD Commercial Vehicles is using advanced technology to empower product evolution, adhering to “technology as the king, innovation as the foundation”, and will drive the development of China’s new energy commercial vehicle industry.
