Green Hydrogen: The Shandeka Hydrogen Fuel Cell Tractor Makes a Stunning Debut
This widely acclaimed hydrogen fuel cell tractor has been developed by China National Heavy Duty Truck. The vehicle is powered by an electric drive axle, with a range of up to 1,200 kilometers. Compared to traditional heavy-duty trucks, it is completely environmentally friendly, emitting no carbon dioxide during its operation, making it an ideal choice for zero-emission long-distance transportation.
On-site, the vehicle features a newly developed chassis platform specifically for new energy commercial vehicles by China National Heavy Duty Truck. The entire vehicle adopts a highly integrated design, resulting in a more compact overall layout. The battery and chassis are integrated to achieve efficient space utilization. It is equipped with the newly developed integrated two-speed electric drive axle, with two sets of 275kW flat wire permanent magnet synchronous motors on each axle, achieving a system efficiency of up to 94.5%, a maximum total power of 1100kW, and a peak power of 1475 horsepower. It can select between automatic and manual driving modes based on driving conditions to meet various transportation scenarios.
Additionally, the vehicle incorporates several energy-saving technologies, such as multi-mode energy recovery, real-time adjustment of control strategies based on load estimation, and predictive intelligent energy-saving modes. The fuel cell system, independently developed by China National Heavy Duty Truck, has a rated power of 300kW, a power-to-weight ratio of 820W/kg, a service life of over 30,000 hours, and a low cold start temperature of -40°C. The fuel cell system is capable of self-learning and calibrating control parameters such as operating condition adaptability, environmental temperature adaptability, and component reliability adaptability. The hydrogen storage system uses 8 sets of 350-liter, 70MPa cylinders, with a total capacity of up to 2800 liters. With the support of various energy-saving measures and control strategies, the vehicle’s hydrogen consumption is less than 9.5 kg per 100 kilometers, achieving a range of up to 1200 kilometers.
Entering the cab, the interior of the Shandeka hydrogen fuel cell tractor features a design similar to that of passenger vehicles, equipped with air-spring seats, a large central control screen, a high-end audio-visual entertainment system, automatic air conditioning, and electric rearview mirrors. With the support of multiple active and passive intelligent assistance systems (such as CMBS (Collision Mitigation Braking System), LDW (Lane Departure Warning), ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control), DFMS (Driver Fatigue Monitoring System), SLA (Speed Limit Assistance), TSR (Traffic Sign Recognition), BSD (Blind Spot Detection), and AEB (Autonomous Emergency Braking)), the vehicle achieves L2+ level autonomous driving, maximizing transport safety
