The Yuchai YCK16H hydrogen fuel engine is currently the largest displacement and highest horsepower hydrogen fuel engine in China, with a displacement of 15.93 liters and a maximum output of 560 horsepower. It features significant advantages such as lighter weight, stronger power, higher thermal efficiency, and better stability. This platform has a high adaptability to fuel purity, capable of using various fuel sources including gray hydrogen, green hydrogen, and hydrogen produced from methanol on-site. Depending on user needs and the basic conditions for fuel production, storage, and transportation, it can freely combine fuel supplies, making it a flexible and controllable zero-carbon, low-carbon power solution.
Since the successful ignition of the YCK16H hydrogen fuel engine, Yuchai has completed a series of preliminary testing work over two years, including component matching selection testing, bench performance calibration and optimization, and electronic control calibration optimization. Based on Yuchai’s independently developed control system, this engine has achieved independent development and optimization of key technologies such as closed-loop control of air-fuel ratio, transient boost pressure control, and fully automatic intelligent fuel-saving features. Additionally, by employing a specialized combustion system technology, the engine has achieved efficient zero-carbon emissions and successfully met the expected thermal efficiency targets. Its innovative dual pressure regulating valve design for the hydrogen supply line not only enhances the safety and reliability of the hydrogen management system but also lays a solid foundation for the engine’s operational deployment.
