At the Weichai sub-venue, the company successfully unveiled the world’s largest mechanical pump diesel engine for commercial vehicles and new gas engine models meeting Euro III, Euro V, and Euro VI emission standards. Simultaneously, Weichai hosted the Global Launch Ceremony of its High Thermal Efficiency Engine Technology Services, showcasing multiple achievements in its overseas market strategy.
The overseas market has always been a key focus in Weichai’s strategic layout. Among them, the WP13, the world’s largest displacement mechanical pump engine, leads in performance, fuel efficiency, and reliability. With a maximum output of 500 horsepower and 2200 N·m, it delivers 10% more power, ensuring ample power reserves to increase vehicle speed and reduce transportation time, thereby enhancing efficiency. Featuring multiple fuel-saving technologies, the engine’s fuel consumption can be reduced by 5-15g/kW·h. Additionally, its B10 life reaches 1.2 million kilometers, significantly increasing product utilization and boosting customer profitability.
Weichai has over 25 years of experience in natural gas engine development, boasting deep expertise and leading technology. Responding to the demand for natural gas engines in overseas markets, Weichai introduced several models with varying displacements, including the WP7NG, WP13NG, and WP15NG. Notably, the Weichai NG4.0 products leverage high thermal efficiency platforms and optimized powertrains, offering superior performance in power, fuel efficiency, reliability, and adaptability. These engines meet diverse application scenarios for commercial vehicles, highlighting Weichai’s leadership and innovation in gas power technologies.
Improving thermal efficiency has been a shared goal in the global diesel engine industry for 127 years and serves as a benchmark for a nation’s comprehensive diesel engine technological strength. Since 2020, Weichai has successively launched diesel engines with thermal efficiency breakthroughs of 50%, 51%, 52%, and, in 2024, led the world with a record-breaking 53.09% thermal efficiency. Within just four years, Weichai has achieved four significant milestones in this domain.
In terms of specific technical advancements, Weichai has focused on key areas such as high-efficiency combustion, low resistance, and low energy losses. Through continuous innovation, the company has significantly improved diesel engine thermal efficiency.
