It not only demonstrated Hyundai Motor Group’s strong foundation in the hydrogen energy sector but also illustrated a new chapter of green and efficient logistics with its “Zero-Carbon Urban Logistics Model.”
Demonstration Operations: Building a Zero-Carbon Logistics Model
As a global “First Mover” in the new energy sector, Hyundai Motor Group has been committed to the development and application of hydrogen energy technologies since 1998. After 27 years of persistent efforts, the company now leads the world in hydrogen energy technology and boasts rich commercialization experience. Not only has it launched hydrogen energy products for diverse scenarios, but it also introduced the dedicated hydrogen ecosystem brand HTWO this year. HTWO offers a comprehensive solution, the “HTWO Grid Solution,” covering hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and application.
To help China achieve its “dual carbon” goals, Hyundai Motor has been increasing its investment in technologies and products, further advancing the implementation of “Comprehensive Hydrogen Energy Solutions” in China. In 2023, Hyundai established its first overseas hydrogen fuel cell system base, HTWO Guangzhou, focusing on research, production, and sales. Hydrogen fuel cell systems produced here are now installed in logistics vehicles, sanitation trucks, and other models, successfully starting demonstration operations.
MIGHTY Fuel Cell represents the latest application of Hyundai’s hydrogen energy technology in commercial vehicles. Equipped with a 90kW hydrogen stack system, it achieves a power generation efficiency of 64%, features a 520L hydrogen storage tank, and boasts a working range of up to 574 kilometers. Refueling takes only 8 to 10 minutes, making it perfectly suited for urban delivery and intercity logistics. Since its market launch at the end of 2022, MIGHTY Fuel Cell has received over 500 orders in demonstration zones such as Guangzhou, earning widespread recognition for its stability and reliability.
At a major logistics hub in Guangzhou, Zhang, a delivery driver with ten years of experience, praised the MIGHTY Fuel Cell hydrogen fuel cell truck. He said, “Since I started using the MIGHTY Fuel Cell, my daily delivery tasks have become much more efficient. Hydrogen refueling is quick, the range is long, and it’s environmentally friendly with zero emissions. I feel like I’m contributing to the city’s green development while making my deliveries.”

MIGHTY Fuel Cell excels in both power and safety performance. Its motor delivers a peak power of 140kW and a peak torque of 360Nm, ensuring rapid acceleration and strong hill-climbing capabilities. Key components are rated IP68 for protection, and the high-tensile steel body offers maximum safety for occupants. Additionally, HTWO Guangzhou’s fuel cell and anti-cold battery technologies enable extended range and full adaptation to all-weather and all-region operations.
MIGHTY Fuel Cell’s durability is equally remarkable, with its body, doors, steering, and suspension outperforming competitors by 15%. Its industry-leading anti-corrosion technology ensures long-term service life.
