On March 21st, the offline ceremony of the 10,000th Aowei 16-liter gas engine (6SX1) of FAW Jiefang, themed “Ignite a New Journey with Unwavering Momentum”, was grandly held at the Wuxi Super Factory. This marks that the first domestic 16-liter large-horsepower gas engine with sales exceeding 10,000 units has officially entered a new stage of large-scale application.
At the ceremony site, the 10,000th 16-liter 6SX1 gas engine was officially rolled off the production line. Dong Yazhou, Assistant General Manager of FAW Jiefang and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Powertrain Division, and Ni Mouchun, General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Powertrain Division, unveiled the 10,000th 16-liter 6SX1 gas engine.
Since its launch in November 2023, the 6SX1 gas engine of FAW Jiefang, with its 16-liter golden displacement, has achieved a perfect combination of a peak torque of 3000N・m and a horsepower of 660. It has formed unique advantages of “low gas consumption, high power, and high reliability”, becoming a new benchmark for large-horsepower gas engines in the industry. Currently, this engine has been mass-applied to models such as Jiefang J7, J6V, Yingtu, and JH6, and the longest driving mileage has exceeded 500,000 kilometers.
According to the latest market data, the market share of the 16-liter 6SX1 gas engine of FAW Jiefang in the domestic gas engine market with a horsepower of over 600 exceeds 70%, and its sales are far ahead. That means among every 10 gas engines of this type, 7 are from FAW Jiefang, which fully demonstrates the trust and recognition of users towards it.
This time, the sales of the 16-liter 6SX1 gas engine of FAW Jiefang have taken the lead in exceeding 10,000 units. This is not only a highlight moment in its own development but also injects a shot in the arm into the entire commercial vehicle powertrain industry.
