On the occasion of the 69th anniversary of the birth of New China’s first automobile, the FAW Jiefang Power Domain Technology and Product Launch Conference, themed “‘Core’ Power · Leading the Future”, was held at the Changchun Factory of FAW Jiefang Power Assembly on July 13. Wang Zilian, Deputy Secretary of the Changchun Municipal Party Committee and Mayor; Jiang Huifeng, Member of the Standing Committee and Deputy Mayor of the Municipal Party Committee; Qiu Xiandong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China FAW; Wu Bilei, Member of the Standing Committee and Deputy General Manager of the Party Committee attended the event. Li Sheng, Chairman and Secretary of the Party Committee of FAW Jiefang, released the latest technologies and products of FAW Jiefang’s intelligent power domain. Leaders of relevant municipal and district departments, relevant responsible persons of China FAW and FAW Jiefang, overseas customers, partners, and industry media participated in the event.

The total vehicle sales have stabilized at over 3 million units, the sales of independent brands and new energy vehicles have continued to rise, and profitability has always remained at the forefront of central enterprises. As the “golden brand” of China FAW, FAW Jiefang has continued to lead China’s commercial vehicle industry, with the terminal share of medium and heavy trucks ranking first in China for 10 consecutive years, new energy vehicle sales doubling for 3 consecutive years, innovation capability ranking first in the industry for 8 consecutive years, and brand value leading the industry for 14 consecutive years. Building a strong automobile country and a strong manufacturing country is the unchanging original aspiration and bounden mission of China FAW. He said that as a leading enterprise in China’s commercial vehicle industry, FAW Jiefang carries the profound heritage of Changchun, an automobile city. The release of FAW Jiefang’s new technologies and products in the intelligent power domain fully reflects that FAW Jiefang is continuously developing towards high-end, green, and intelligent directions. At the conference, Wu Bilei awarded plaques to representatives of 10 enterprises, including TWT Construction Company and Deppon Logistics, which are members of the “Thousand-Vehicle Customer Club” and purchase more than 1,000 Jiefang trucks annually. This marks that FAW Jiefang has built a high-end customer network covering domestic core logistics enterprises and overseas markets.
Li Sheng grandly released the latest technologies and products of FAW Jiefang’s intelligent power domain. He said that FAW Jiefang has always placed product innovation and technological innovation at the top of enterprise development. In recent years, it has accelerated the R&D and manufacturing of intelligent power domain products and achieved fruitful results. This time, 4 intelligent power domain products are released, covering oil-gas intelligent power domains and new energy intelligent power domains.
In terms of oil-gas intelligent power domain, Li Sheng released two products: GS280 and GD300. The GS280 is composed of a 15L6SV3 natural gas engine, T-shift transmission, lightweight 440 axle, and IPU domain control software platform, with a total of 28 core technological breakthroughs. Among them, in terms of hardware, there are 9 industry-first technologies. The engine has broken through the ultra-high compression ratio combustion technology for natural gas engines, with a thermal efficiency of 42.5% and a B10 life of 2 million kilometers. The overall efficiency of the transmission exceeds 98.5%, and the comprehensive efficiency of the drive axle reaches 98.1%. In terms of domain control software, there are 7 unique intelligent gas-saving, intelligent maintenance, and intelligent safety software technologies. The GD300 is composed of a 13L6DV1 diesel engine, T-shift transmission, lightweight 440 axle, and IPU domain control software platform, with a mass-produced thermal efficiency of over 50%. The IPU domain control software shares the same platform as that for natural gas. Aiming at the pain points of diesel after-treatment systems, such as complex structure and high heat management fuel consumption loss, it has broken through 8 software technologies, 3 of which are industry-first. To support the mass production and launch of oil-gas power domain products, the three intelligent factories of Jiefang Power Assembly in Wuxi, Changchun, and Dalian have added more than 4 billion yuan in investment, focusing on strengthening intelligent manufacturing to achieve high-quality delivery of power domain products. At present, oil-gas intelligent power domain products have been fully equipped on models such as J7, Yingtu, JH6, and J6V and put on the market, winning the consistent trust of logistics users and drivers.
In terms of new energy intelligent power domain products, FAW Jiefang has fully laid out power domain products for pure electric E platform, hybrid H platform, and hydrogen F platform. This time, Li Sheng focused on releasing two pure electric E platform power domain products: ER260 and EE270. The ER260, with an electric drive axle as the core, is composed of a single under-mounted battery, a heavy-duty electric drive axle, and an IPU domain control software platform, containing 20 core technological achievements. Among them, in terms of hardware, there are 6 industry-first technologies. The electric drive axle has broken through the high-efficiency oil-cooled flat wire motor technology, achieving an efficiency of over 90% for more than 90% of the time, and the comprehensive efficiency of the electric drive axle reaches 90.6%. In terms of domain control software, there are 4 unique intelligent reliability and intelligent energy-saving technologies. The EE270, with an electric drive box as the core, is composed of a side-mounted battery, a heavy-duty electric drive box, a drive axle, and an IPU domain control software platform. It reuses the ER260 domain control software technology and has further broken through 10 hardware technologies, 3 of which are industry-first. It applies dual motors and dual 4-speed power decoupling technology, achieving a system efficiency of 92%, no slipping when climbing with heavy loads, and the electric drive box can start quickly at -30°C without speed limitation. FAW Jiefang has fully built a full-chain independent production capacity for electric drives and battery systems, innovated multi-condition simulation offline detection systems and manufacturing quality automatic discrimination systems, and created optimal product quality. FAW Jiefang attaches great importance to after-market ecological cooperation and has established a new energy solution company with CATL covering charging and swapping operations, vehicle-battery separation, and vehicle leasing businesses. This year, new energy intelligent power domain products will be fully launched on models such as J6L, J6P, and JH6, achieving a 100-kilometer power consumption that is more than 5% ahead of the industry, and the B10 life of key assemblies reaching 2 million kilometers.
