He also provided in-depth deployment on advancing marketing ecosystem changes and digital transformation across product resources, financial support, business policies, and other aspects.
Gong Haidong pointed out that under the backdrop of steady global growth in commercial vehicles and the accelerating globalization of Chinese automotive companies, the domestic commercial vehicle market remains stable, with significant structural growth opportunities. As new energy commercial vehicles experience rapid growth, the market environment is undergoing dramatic changes. It is crucial to continue to deploy the new ecosystem and deepen marketing transformation. Accelerating Innovation Outcomes to Promote High-Quality Corporate Development
In 2024, Foton Motor firmly adhered to its first strategy for new energy, releasing the international strategy GREEN30•30, and deeply implementing the “Foton+Era” dual-brand strategy. The company upgraded its brand visual system with new product colors while focusing on revitalizing the global brand of “Forland” for the era. With abundant technological innovations and a continually expanding product matrix, Foton is driving the high-quality transformation and development of the company.
As the new energy transformation in the commercial vehicle industry accelerates, breakthroughs in core technologies such as the three-electric system have become key to leading the new race. After years of planning, Foton Motor has achieved independent research and development and manufacturing of core three-electric modules, mastering and breaking through 22 core technologies including electric control technology, electric drive, power batteries, and fuel cells. At the component exhibition area during the conference, a series of key innovations in Foton’s “three-electric” technologies were displayed, establishing a long-term core competitive advantage for the company’s high-quality development.
Among these, Foton’s independently developed AyiKe·iEC highly integrated power electronic unit is a key component in new energy vehicle drive systems. It features functions such as VCU, MCU, and PDU distribution, offering high reliability, excellent fault tolerance, electromagnetic compatibility, and environmental adaptability. This unit meets fast charging, slow charging, body mounting, and air brake distribution requirements, ensuring the safe and stable operation of new energy vehicles. It can be considered the “brain” and “heart” of electric vehicles. Also displayed were two AyiKe·iED electric drive axles, one for VAN products with small size, light weight, and high efficiency, paired with a simple, reliable second-stage parallel axis helical gear reduction system that reduces noise during driving and enhances the driving experience. The other, for light truck products, achieves a transmission efficiency of up to 97%, paired with highly reliable, low-friction, maintenance-free bearing units, central parking brakes, and optional EPB electronic parking for a smoother, more efficient transportation experience. In terms of battery technology, Foton’s AyiKe·iEB24V multifunctional lithium battery has a cycle life of over 10 years, self-heats at temperatures as low as -35°C, and supports more than 6 hours of air conditioning supply during parking, effectively improving operational efficiency in winter environments. In addition, the exhibited AyiKe·iEB light truck 111kWh power battery boasts “high integration, high energy density, and high cycle life,” providing higher battery capacity in the same volume and extending the vehicle’s range. These core technological advancements have already begun to be integrated into vehicles, strengthening the company’s core competitiveness for high-quality development.
With the rapid implementation of technological innovations, the speed of product upgrades at Foton Motor this year has also amazed the industry. During this conference, Foton Motor showcased 53 new heavy-duty products, with 28 new platform vehicles, covering pure electric, hybrid, and fuel/gasoline technology routes. The continually expanding new product matrix injects new momentum into the company’s high-quality transformation.
The star products include the highly anticipated Foton Auman Galaxy 9 and Galaxy 7, which, with their new intelligent architecture platform, new styling, outstanding performance, and intelligent comfort features, redefine global heavy-duty truck standards. These two series have already reached mass production standards and will be fully launched soon. Additionally, more than 20 new pure electric products were a major highlight, including the Auman Galaxy 9 pure electric tractor, Ouhang Zhilan pure electric medium truck, and Oumako Zhilan 2C super fast charging light truck, as well as the all-new Aoling Zhilan EM and Xiangling M2 pure electric micro trucks. Foton also unveiled the Tunyano D.V. EV and the new generation pure electric mid-VAN product, the Fengjing i series, offering excellent product competitiveness with advanced new energy technologies. Furthermore, three unmanned driving devices were displayed, including a 6-meter autonomous shuttle, last-mile unmanned delivery vehicles, and last-mile unmanned sweepers. These unmanned driving devices are already in operation in closed campuses, demonstrating Foton Motor’s strong technical reserves and capabilities in the field of autonomous driving, laying a solid foundation for winning the upcoming intelligent competition.
