Recently, the V5_VCU project of the Intelligent Connected Development Center at the Commercial Research Headquarters of Dongfeng Automobile Co., Ltd. (“DFAC” or “the Company”) successfully obtained the ASPICE CL2 certification. This certification is a high recognition of the software development quality and R&D process management system of Dongfeng’s Intelligent Connected Development Center, marking that DFAC has established a standardized software R&D management system in line with international standards and is at the forefront of the industry.
ASPICE (Automotive Software Process Improvement and Capability Determination) is recognized as the “key to software quality” in the automotive industry. It aims to guide automotive parts suppliers to higher standards through a rigorous process improvement and capability determination system. Originating from the collective wisdom of several top European automakers, ASPICE has been an essential foundation for enhancing the quality of in-vehicle software and ensuring driving safety since its inception in 2005. With the advent of the intelligent connected vehicle era, ASPICE’s influence has grown globally and has become a crucial benchmark in evaluating the qualifications of software suppliers and promoting high-quality industry development in China.
During the preparation for this certification, the DFAC team overcame nearly a thousand tasks, compiled hundreds of standardized documents and process files, and designed and executed nearly a thousand test cases, ensuring that every step met ASPICE’s high standards. Obtaining the ASPICE CL2 certification not only enhances DFAC’s core competitiveness in the intelligent connected vehicle field but also provides robust technical support and assurance for the smooth advancement of the company’s strategic projects.
Looking ahead, DFAC plans to use this certification as a springboard to further deepen technological innovation and process optimization, continuously improve its software development capabilities and product quality, and contribute to the company’s transformation and upgrade as well as its competitiveness in the light commercial vehicle sector on an international level. Additionally, DFAC intends to actively share its successful experiences to promote and enhance industry standards, jointly leading the prosperous development of the intelligent connected vehicle industry.
