On July 27-28, the 2024 Xinjiang Green Electric Transportation Industry High-Quality Development Expo and the Launch Ceremony for 1,000 New Energy Pure Electric Vehicles by FAW Jiefang were held at the Jiuzhou Hengchang Logistics Group Park in Changji, Xinjiang. At the expo, FAW Jiefang showcased its strong capabilities as a leader in technology, trends, and products, exhibiting the Jiefang New Energy J6P composite battery swap tractor and the J6L standard load battery swap tractor.
The J6P composite battery swap tractor, equipped with top-notch precision motors and a Fast 6-speed gearbox, provides a robust 570 horsepower. Optimizations in gear shifting points, motor filtering, and integrated thermal management technology reduce energy consumption, resulting in a comprehensive energy consumption efficiency improvement of over 8%, enabling 10-20 km more range per equivalent power and saving 10,000-20,000 yuan in annual electricity costs.
The J6L standard load battery swap tractor features industry-leading lightweight design, utilizing high-strength steel and composite materials. With a 282-degree electric chassis weighing only 9.4 tons, it is 500 kg lighter than competitors, achieving the lightest vehicle weight in the industry and enhancing user earnings by 20,000-30,000 yuan annually. Both products, with their powerful power systems, extended range, and superior environmental performance, attracted significant attention from visitors.
During the product presentation in the afternoon, Li Yufeng, Deputy General Manager of FAW Jiefang New Energy Division and General Manager of FAW Jiefang New Energy Vehicle Sales Company, elaborated on FAW Jiefang’s efforts in the new energy sector, closely following the “new four modernizations” trend, accelerating its transformation into a provider of green intelligent transportation solutions. The vehicles’ competitive advantages include “low cost, low weight, low energy consumption, high reliability,” along with differentiated strengths like “long range, low temperature resistance, high intelligence, high comfort.” FAW Jiefang also integrates premium resources, forming joint ventures like “Jiefang Times,” “Di Yiyuanjing,” and “Di Yi Element” for new energy industry chain layout and ecosystem partnerships, providing robust support for market operations.
In June this year, the FAW Jiefang (Qingdao) Commercial Vehicle Development Institute was inaugurated, aiming to create a leading new energy vehicle industry hub. Additionally, two latest hydrogen energy products were launched—the Jiefang Blueway “Xingyi” hydrogen engine tractor for short- and medium-haul markets, and the Jiefang Blueway “Xingyi” liquid hydrogen fuel electric tractor for trunk logistics markets, further enhancing product differentiation.
