On November 15, the 6th Guangzhou International Commercial Vehicle Exhibition was successfully held, during which the FAW Jiefang J7 Chuangling Edition was officially launched. Wang Jianyu, a member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of FAW Jiefang, as well as the Dean and Party Secretary of the Commercial Vehicle Development Institute, gave an in-depth interview. He addressed three key topics: how to meet customer needs, how to ensure Jiefang products remain world-class, and the future product strategies of FAW Jiefang.

When asked about the intense domestic and international competition and the technological advantages of the J7 Chuangling Edition in such a competitive market, Wang Jianyu emphasized that all technological innovations at FAW Jiefang are centered on meeting user needs and creating value. To ensure the J7 Chuangling Edition becomes the next-generation leader in high-end heavy-duty trucks, FAW Jiefang has tailored five technical packages: ultimate energy efficiency, ultimate safety, ultimate reliability, ultimate experience, and ultimate service, incorporating 53 industry-leading technologies.
Ultimate Energy Efficiency Package
Trucks are production tools, and energy efficiency is a core concern for truck drivers. FAW Jiefang developed the ultimate energy efficiency package, focusing on power domain co-control, predictive vehicle control, and ultra-low drag. With breakthroughs in 16 key technologies, the truck achieves 14% energy savings, reducing fuel consumption by 4 liters and gas consumption by 3 kilograms per 100 kilometers, reaching world-class standards.
Ultimate Safety Package
With growing demands for driving safety in high-speed logistics scenarios, FAW Jiefang introduced the ultimate safety package, centered around China’s first L2-level intelligent driving system for commercial vehicles. This package includes 12 core technological breakthroughs, addressing challenges such as large trailer inertia and risks of “jackknifing.” It ensures precise lane centering even in complex scenarios such as sharp curves and strong crosswinds. Drivers can achieve full-speed adaptive cruise control with just a light touch on the steering wheel, effectively mitigating long-distance driving fatigue.
Ultimate Reliability Package
To meet users’ needs for high uptime and residual value, FAW Jiefang developed the ultimate reliability package, focusing on forward reliability development and lean manufacturing. It achieved eight core technological breakthroughs, including a B10 life of 2 million kilometers for key components, with the entire vehicle undergoing nearly 10 million kilometers of rigorous multi-scenario testing.
Ultimate Experience Package
Targeting younger and more personalized user preferences, FAW Jiefang introduced the ultimate experience package, focusing on healthy and digital cockpits. It achieved eight core technological breakthroughs, including the first-ever 5A-rated healthy cabin certification for commercial vehicles. The digital cockpit features a digital key system that preconditions a comfortable driving environment and supports 75 voice-controlled functions, offering the best functional scenario coverage in the industry.
Ultimate Service Package
Catering to users’ demands for time and income efficiency, FAW Jiefang developed a smart service package, driven by the Jiefang Intelligent Cloud Brain and supported by telematics data from 2 million trucks. It encompasses “use, manage, and repair” scenarios with nine core technological breakthroughs, enabling users to enjoy thoughtful services while effortlessly increasing annual earnings.

The interviewer inquired about how FAW Jiefang ensures the J7 Chuangling Edition maintains world-class quality during research and development (R&D) and manufacturing. These ensure process capability indices above 1.67, 100% traceability of key quality data, and 100% compliance for critical torque, guaranteeing product consistency and stability.

When asked about the future product strategy for FAW Jiefang’s high-end heavy-duty truck platform, Wang Jianyu highlighted that the platform is equipped with leading technologies and represented by the J7 Chuangling Edition. Moving forward, FAW Jiefang plans to further enhance the product lineup, creating reliable offerings to meet the needs of both domestic and international users.
Expanding Energy Pathways
FAW Jiefang will accelerate the launch of a series of high-end intelligent trucks, including pure electric, fuel-electric, and hybrid models, supporting the dual-carbon strategy and driving industry growth.
