On November 26, the 2024 Commercial Vehicle Industry Cooperation and Development Conference, organized by China Automotive News, was held in Beijing. Yutong Heavy Duty Trucks was invited to attend, and its 600-degree tractor won the “Excellence in Endurance Award,” fully demonstrating its strong capabilities in the field of new energy heavy trucks.
As one of the most influential and large-scale events in China’s commercial vehicle industry, the 2024 Commercial Vehicle Industry Cooperation and Development Conference not only provided a high-end platform for industry chain cooperation and win-win development, but also became a “showcase” for many automakers to demonstrate their product and technological strength.
At the “Wheels of China” annual gala held during the conference, Yutong’s 600-degree tractor stood out from numerous competing products with its outstanding performance and won the “Carrying Everything, Striving for a Better Future” Excellence in Endurance Award.
As a major product of Yutong Heavy Duty Trucks, the 600-degree tractor is equipped with the new generation BC5 battery from CATL. Not only does it achieve a breakthrough in battery capacity, but it also optimizes vehicle drag, rolling resistance, and efficiency of the three power components. This optimization increases the state of charge (SOC) discharge depth to 5% of the usable capacity, allowing the vehicle’s range to easily exceed 400 kilometers.
In terms of safety, the battery adopts an industry-first “bottom-mounted + rear-mounted” layout, which effectively lowers the vehicle’s center of gravity, enhances stability, expands the driver’s field of vision, and improves overall safety. For reliability, the Yutong 600-degree tractor ensures that its battery can endure 8 years or 4500 cycles with no more than 30% degradation. The vehicle’s total usable energy during the warranty period reaches 2.7 million kWh, and with one charge per day, it can safely run for 8-10 years, providing worry-free battery use throughout its life cycle. In terms of intelligence, the Anruitong intelligent connectivity platform adds useful features such as remote charging appointments, geofencing speed limits, and geofencing charging, making the vehicle’s operation more efficient and helping customers better manage and utilize their vehicles.
With numerous advantages such as long endurance, higher safety, longer service life, and smarter features, the Yutong 600-degree tractor was already a “peak” product upon its release. Since its launch in September this year, it has opened the door to medium- and long-distance transportation for pure electric heavy trucks, leading the industry transformation. It not only completed the 401-kilometer long-range challenge with an energy consumption of 1.18 kWh/km, but also successfully operated on the first national long-distance electric heavy truck route from Hezhou to Guangzhou (700 kilometers round trip), constantly proving its real capabilities with genuine data and real-world scenarios.
