On November 28, 2024, the “Hydrogen Leading the Future—Yutong Hydrogen Fuel Heavy-Duty Truck High-Speed Version Launch and Delivery Event” was successfully held in Zhengzhou, Henan. In 2023, Yutong’s hydrogen fuel cell heavy-duty truck achieved cumulative sales of 775 units, accounting for 25.8% of total annual sales, continuing to lead the industry in annual sales. As of October 2024, Yutong’s hydrogen fuel heavy-duty truck continues to hold the top spot in cumulative sales, with a leading market share in the industry.
Yutong’s hydrogen fuel cell heavy-duty trucks are equipped with high-power fuel cell systems, capable of speeds of 80-90 km/h and a driving range of over 500 kilometers. The power can be matched to different operating scenarios, achieving a perfect balance between power and economy. The fuel cell system and onboard hydrogen storage system are both strictly designed according to Yutong standards, passing 58 and 29 verification items, respectively, to ensure hydrogen safety. In addition, it features a hydrogen system escape grille, precise leak detection, and an emergency shutoff valve as part of an active safety structural design. The truck integrates a hydrogen-electric-structural coupling safety design, ensuring the overall safety and reliability of the vehicle.
Yutong’s hydrogen fuel cell heavy-duty truck also delivers excellent economic performance. It applies a high-efficiency electric-electric hybrid power system and intelligent comprehensive thermal management technology to precisely predict the fuel cell system’s power output. Through waste heat recovery and intelligent coordination with the air conditioning system, hydrogen consumption is significantly reduced, with a savings of about 10% compared to industry standards.
