The First Batch of 30 Hydrogen Fuel Heavy Trucks Delivered! FTXT Joins Forces with Liyuan Group and Yutong Commercial Vehicles to Promote Hydrogen Vehicle Applications in Henan

Recently, a fleet of 30 hydrogen fuel cell heavy trucks, jointly developed by FTXT and Yutong Commercial Vehicles, and equipped by FTXT-Liyuan—a joint venture between FTXT and Liyuan Group—officially began operations in Anyang, Henan. These vehicles will primarily be used to transport coke for Liyuan Group.

This marks a significant milestone in the collaboration between FTXT and Liyuan Group to advance hydrogen vehicle demonstration applications in Henan. It also represents another key achievement in FTXT’s partnership with Yutong, following their successful collaboration on hydrogen-powered buses. This delivery underscores FTXT’s solid progress in expanding its market presence in Henan.

Deployment in Operation

Creating a New Hydrogen-Powered Logistics Demonstration Scene

The delivered vehicles are all 49-ton hydrogen fuel cell heavy trucks, co-developed by FTXT and Yutong Commercial Vehicles. They feature FTXT-Liyuan’s latest 120 kW fuel cell engine for commercial vehicles. These trucks boast advantages such as low noise, low hydrogen consumption, and a range exceeding 500 kilometers. They also offer enhanced power performance, superior environmental adaptability, and have passed Yutong’s 58 stringent verification standards. With a hydrogen-electric-structure coupling safety design integrated into the overall vehicle, they ensure safe hydrogen usage and adaptability to various scenarios, including long-distance and heavy-load conditions, meeting both performance and economic demands.

Post-delivery, these vehicles will primarily operate along coke transportation routes for Liyuan Group, serving locations such as Fengbao Special Steel in Linzhou, Shagang in Shuiye, and Anyang Steel. The round-trip distances for these routes range from 20 to 50 kilometers. This will support Liyuan Group in building an efficient, green, and eco-friendly hydrogen-powered logistics system, while establishing a demonstration scene for hydrogen-powered heavy trucks in Anyang.

Strong Partnerships

Driving Anyang to Become a Hub for Hydrogen Industry Development

As a key coal chemical enterprise in Henan Province, Liyuan Group has a daily capacity of producing 70,000 cubic meters of high-purity hydrogen (99.999% purity). Upon full project completion, its annual hydrogen production capacity is expected to reach 100 million cubic meters. The company also operates a modern logistics park with a transportation capacity of 7 million tons per year, along with a hydrogen refueling station and integrated energy station capable of refueling 2,000 kilograms of hydrogen per day. This comprehensive infrastructure provides a solid foundation for the promotion of hydrogen fuel vehicles.

Yutong Commercial Vehicles, a renowned domestic commercial vehicle manufacturer, has established a comprehensive lineup of fuel cell commercial vehicles, including buses, tractors, dump trucks, and sanitation vehicles. With a three-tier validation system covering vehicles, systems, and key components, Yutong has cumulatively promoted nearly 3,000 hydrogen fuel commercial vehicles, maintaining the top spot in the industry for two consecutive years in hydrogen fuel vehicle and heavy truck promotions.

Previously, FTXT and Liyuan Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement to collaborate on the entire hydrogen industry chain, covering hydrogen production, storage, and transportation, hydrogen refueling, application scenarios, high-end equipment manufacturing, smart management platforms, hydrogen trading platforms, carbon trading platforms, liquid hydrogen fields, and the establishment of joint ventures. FTXT also has a strong foundation of cooperation with Yutong in developing hydrogen-powered buses.

This joint effort by the three parties to develop and demonstrate hydrogen fuel heavy trucks further highlights their deepening collaboration in hydrogen and fuel cell technology. It also facilitates the integration of their respective resources to continuously validate the economic feasibility and promotional pathways of hydrogen vehicles. This initiative aims to create a benchmark for hydrogen fuel cell vehicle applications in Anyang, injecting new momentum into the hydrogen industry development and green transportation transformation in Anyang and Henan.
