On August 12, BYD Commercial Vehicles and JD Auto formally signed a strategic cooperation agreement at BYD’s headquarters in Pingshan, Shenzhen. Tian Chunlong, General Manager of BYD Commercial Vehicles Division, and Wang Peinuan, Senior Vice President of JD Group, witnessed the signing ceremony together.

General Manager Tian Chunlong stated that the electrification of commercial vehicles is currently entering a fast track, with penetration rate growing from single digits to double digits. As the only commercial vehicle enterprise mastering the core new energy technologies of “three electric systems and one chip” (battery, motor, electronic control, and chip), BYD Commercial Vehicles has been continuously enriching its product matrix to meet market demands through strong independent R&D capabilities and full industrial chain layout. He expressed hope that taking this signing as an opportunity, relying on JD Group’s government and enterprise business platform, the two parties will further deepen cooperation to promote the application of new energy commercial vehicles in more scenarios.
Senior Vice President Wang Peinuan noted that JD Auto has gradually grown into a prominent government and enterprise business platform with significant performance growth and first-mover resource advantages. It will take the lead in promoting BYD commercial vehicles in fields such as energy and tobacco; at the same time, relying on JD Group’s strengths in insurance and supply chain management, it will empower the entire commercial vehicle industry chain and expand into more application scenarios together.
In addition, the two parties also discussed matters such as product entry into the platform, platform recommendations, and employee internal purchases. BYD Commercial Vehicles and JD Auto will firmly seize this cooperation opportunity, and through leading products and first-class services, create greater value for users, the market, and China’s commercial vehicle industry.
