Recently, during the 2024 IAA TRANSPORTATION in Hannover, Germany, Weichai Energy actively promoted international cooperation on hydrogen energy projects and reached strategic cooperation outcomes with several Italian enterprises, universities, and institutions, laying a solid foundation for further expanding into the European and global markets.
Weichai Energy, the Polytechnic University of Bari, PLD ARTECH S.R.L., and Tehai Hydrogen Testing jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on science and education cooperation. The four parties will jointly conduct scientific research focused on technological demonstrations and industrial incubation for heavy commercial vehicles powered by fuel cells (FC), as well as advanced testing applications and technical evaluations. This collaboration aims to deepen cooperation in hydrogen transportation, foster talent development and technical exchanges in the hydrogen and fuel cell sectors, and promote innovation and development in hydrogen technology.
Weichai Energy has also reached a project cooperation agreement with PLD ARTECH S.R.L. and the local leading heavy truck enterprise Avantgarde. Weichai Energy will continue to provide comprehensive product technology and services, offering hydrogen heavy truck solutions for “zero-carbon transportation” needs in the Puglia region and Italy. This initiative aims to promote large-scale hydrogen fuel cell commercial vehicles as a pioneering project for the region’s overall hydrogen energy development, supporting the green energy growth and transition to green transportation in Europe.
