On September 28, 2024, the Times Automotive globalization strategy launch conference was grandly held in Qingdao, Shandong. Against the backdrop of rapid advancements in new energy and intelligent driving technologies in the global automotive industry, Foton Motor unveiled its future-oriented international strategy, leading industry transformation with green technology and forward-thinking intelligence. At the same time, Times Automotive officially began a new chapter in its global development with a fresh strategic layout.

“In the century-long history of the automotive industry, the global automotive sector has experienced three critical windows of opportunity. The Ford assembly line turned cars from luxury items into mass-market products. In the 1970s, Japanese products became world-class brands due to breakthroughs in engine thermal efficiency, followed by German companies seizing opportunities in the Chinese market to achieve sales breakthroughs. Today, the global low-carbon economy and energy transition have ushered in a fourth window of opportunity. Chinese automakers, leveraging scale advantages, early leads in new energy, and intelligent connected ecosystems, are poised to embrace a new wave of opportunities and become new leaders in the global automotive industry,” stated Lu Zhenghua, Executive Deputy General Manager of Foton Motor, at the event.

Foton Motor recognizes that the current transformative era is a key moment for Chinese automakers to step boldly onto the international stage. Therefore, Foton officially launched its “GREEN 3030” international strategy. The “3030” signifies the goal of achieving overseas sales of 300,000 units and a 30% share of new energy vehicles by 2030. GREEN represents green technology and solutions, encompassing five key concepts: G—Growth symbolizes a comprehensive layout of products, technology routes, marketing innovation, global supply chain systems, and organizational human resources internationalization, organically combining scale expansion with high-quality development; R—Region emphasizes localized deep manufacturing operations to enhance economic development momentum; the first E—EV signifies dual-driven development through independent research and global collaboration, leading the new energy commercial vehicle sector; the second E—Ecosystem interprets the operation of a comprehensive global aftermarket ecosystem; N—Network suggests a global resource chain integration system, achieving efficient resource integration and complementary advantages, injecting lasting momentum into Foton’s international business expansion and future growth.

With the group’s international strategy as the core driving force, Times Automotive simultaneously updated its strategic layout at the event. Liu Xuguang, Vice President of Foton Motor and President of the Times Division, stated that in the future, Times Automotive will focus on three major sectors: vehicles and equipment, intelligent technology, and commercial ecology. Through the integration of software and hardware, digital and ecological systems, and technology and commerce, the aim is to achieve customer-centric ecological and commercial value centered on development. The vehicles and equipment sector will focus on light and micro commercial vehicles, continuously expanding product categories and enhancing user experiences. The intelligent technology sector will activate smart logistics to reduce costs and increase efficiency, enhancing user value. In the commercial ecology sector, Times Automotive will link global resources to create a sustainable ecological community.

“Times Automotive’s mid-term goal is to strive for sales of 500,000 units and revenue of 40 billion yuan by 2030. Among these, new energy vehicles will account for over 50% globally, with over 30% in overseas markets. Our products will cover 150 countries and regions globally, with an intelligent vehicle penetration rate exceeding 50%. The Times global center factory aims for carbon peak by 2028 and carbon neutrality by 2030,” Liu Xuguang stated.

To promote the achievement of these goals, Times Automotive launched its first intelligent driving platform, the F10. This platform is developed based on a skateboard chassis and modular application concept. The design separates the upper and lower vehicle bodies, allowing for quick switching of the upper assembly based on different scenarios, accommodating ten application scenarios such as unmanned delivery, sanitation cleaning, factory logistics, and unmanned patrols.

At the same time, Times Automotive officially announced its brand renewal and released a new logo that inherits the classic design of the Swift symbol. The outer circle of the logo represents a global ecological circle, symbolizing resource chain integration, diverse models, and the perfect presentation of ecological value. The integrated letter “F” from “Forland” also embodies Fast—greater agility and efficiency, Forever—greater reliability and durability, Fantastic—higher quality, Freedom—a more relaxed experience, and Future—a more exciting future, reflecting its aspirations for itself and commitments to customers and partners. The outer circle of the logo represents a global ecological circle, symbolizing the efficient operation of resource chain integration, extreme accessibility of diverse models, and the perfect presentation of ecological value.

In the future, Foton Motor will deeply implement the GREEN 3030 international strategy, leading global automotive industry transformation with green technology and innovative intelligence. Times Automotive will also uphold its spirit of excellence, creating more wonderful journeys for global users through the construction of a co-evolving new ecosystem. With new goals, new strategies, and new journeys, the future global commercial vehicle market will witness an even more powerful Foton presence!
