Alcohol Hydrogen Technology Completes Over $200 Million in Series C Financing

On July 20th, Alcohol Hydrogen Technology announced the completion of its third round of financing, led by Hangzhou High-Tech Financial Investment, with follow-up investments from several strategic partners including Xiangtan Electrochemical Industry Investment and Nanxun Industrial Fund. The total amount of this round of financing exceeds 200 million US dollars, which will be mainly used for the R&D of alcohol-hydrogen products and the construction of an alcohol-hydrogen ecological system. Alcohol Hydrogen Technology will further promote the high-quality development of liquid solar alcohol-hydrogen electric technology in commercial fields, providing a more economical, convenient, and sustainable liquid energy technical route for the country’s energy transformation.

Alcohol Hydrogen Technology Completes Over 0 Million in Series C Financing

Liquid energy is globally recognized as the most convenient form of energy for storage, transportation, and use. In the construction of the country’s new energy system, new liquid energy and traditional new energy should form a multi-energy complementary and balanced development pattern, thereby building a more stable energy system guarantee. Alcohol Hydrogen Technology has actively seized the historical opportunity of the country’s green and low-carbon energy transformation, and deeply cultivated the alcohol-hydrogen electric industry chain. By using methanol as liquid electricity and liquid hydrogen to directly replace traditional gasoline and diesel fuels, it has developed an innovative “liquid new energy” technical route that can solve the pain points of various traditional new energy technical routes in the world today.

Like electricity, methanol is first and foremost a coal-based clean energy source. At the same time, it is the best carrier for wind and solar power. It can be produced on a large scale by hydrogenation of carbon dioxide, with zero-carbon properties, making it the liquid new energy form most conducive to national energy independence. This will completely change the current high-cost traditional energy pattern of “west-to-east coal transportation” and “west-to-east power transmission” from Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia, directly converting the abundant wind-solar power and coal resources in western regions into liquid zero-carbon methanol. It can directly utilize existing oil and gas pipelines and over 120,000 gas station infrastructures to form a complete liquid new energy storage and transportation system, realizing a true energy revolution and energy transformation and upgrading strategy.

Currently, alcohol-hydrogen electric technology has been widely applied commercially, and the industrial ecology of methanol liquid new energy has matured. Geely has operated over 50,000 alcohol-hydrogen electric vehicles, equivalent to twice the number of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, with a cumulative mileage exceeding 23 billion kilometers and over 400 core patents. With vehicle promotion as the core, Alcohol Hydrogen Technology, driven by both capital and product markets, promotes the coordinated development of zero-carbon methanol production, methanol refueling, and alcohol-electric vehicles, and advances zero-carbon methanol development in three steps, aiming to build a trillion-yuan value ecological industrial chain of methanol liquid new energy with Chinese characteristics.

China’s ultra-large-scale market and rich application scenarios provide a strong driving force for the iteration of new energy technologies and industrial development. Alcohol Hydrogen Technology will accelerate the construction of a diversified zero-carbon methanol transportation energy ecology, and continuously provide leading comprehensive solutions for national energy security, energy transformation, and sustainable development.
