At the beginning of the 21st century, Cummins – a global power giant with pure “American blood” – initiated a “marriage” with Shaanxi Automobile Heavy Duty Truck, a leader in China’s commercial vehicle industry. Establishing roots in Xi’an, Shaanxi, this collaboration kicked off an industry legend. In 2025, as Cummins marks its 50th anniversary in China and celebrates 20 years of joint venture with Shaanxi Automobile, the two partners have joined hands again to launch exciting new products.

On November 10, China’s only national-level commercial vehicle exhibition – the 2025 China International Commercial Vehicle Show (CCVS, also known as the Wuhan Auto Show) – grandly opened at the Wuhan International Expo Center. At this show, the all-new Shaanxi Automobile Cummins C-Series, co-developed by Shaanxi Automobile Heavy Duty Truck and Xi’an Cummins, was officially launched. With the theme “Galloping Across the Nation, Embarking on a Brilliant New Journey with C-Series”, the new C-Series redefines high-end commercial vehicle standards through “Four-Dimensional Empowerment”.

The “Four-Dimensional Empowerment” of the all-new Shaanxi Automobile Cummins C-Series encompasses four core dimensions:
- “Cutting edge”: Upholding a high-end quality position in the brand dimension.
- “Co-innovation”: Achieving forward-integrated innovation in the mechanism dimension.
- “Competitive product”: Creating a competitive benchmark in the product dimension.
- “Commitment to service”: Ensuring rapid response and strong support in the service dimension.
Together, these four dimensions shape the exceptional user value of the new C-Series.
At the exhibition, the all-new Shaanxi Automobile Cummins C-Series made a powerful appearance with five core engines, delivering robust power to meet the diverse needs of different fields and operating conditions:

The M10 engine (shown above) stands out with light weight and low fuel consumption, boasting a maximum horsepower of 480 and peak torque of 2600N·m. It also offers excellent plateau performance, making it suitable for weight-sensitive scenarios such as coal transportation, dump trucks, dangerous goods transport, and port towing, achieving “dual excellence” in load capacity and fuel economy.

The X12FE engine adapts to multiple working conditions including coal transportation, dump trucks, dangerous goods transport, and port towing. With a B10 design life of 2 million kilometers, it adopts a non-EGR National VI technical route, featuring a simpler structure, higher reliability, and better attendance. Equipped with Smart Brain 2.0 closed-loop control technology, 2000Bar XPI ultra-high pressure fuel injection system, electronic control fan, and parallel dual thermostats, it ensures low fuel consumption, strong power, and high reliability.

The M13 engine is suitable for high-speed standard load, express delivery, heavy-duty dump trucks, and daily industrial product transportation. Designed with low-speed and high-torque characteristics, it improves transient response by 5%-10%, offering fast low-speed response and strong acceleration – ideal for mountainous and climbing routes. It features a high-ground-clearance oil pan for enhanced water and shock resistance, and has undergone over 3 million kilometers of road tests in high-temperature, cold, and high-altitude environments, ensuring outstanding reliability.

The M15 engine delivers large-displacement and super-strong power, adapting to high-intensity and high-demand scenarios such as high-speed standard load, oversize cargo transport, and heavy-duty transportation. Benefiting from its large displacement, it exhibits excellent low-speed and high-torque performance, outputting 3200N·m of powerful torque at 900 rpm. Adopting non-EGR technology and Smart Brain 2.0 closed-loop control, it achieves superior reliability and fuel economy. Combined with Cummins’ exclusive iBrake engine braking system (with a maximum braking power of 612 horsepower), it further helps control vehicle speed and improve safety.

The 15NFE natural gas engine is one of the flagship products in Xi’an Cummins’ “Gallop Power” lineup. Applying Miller cycle technology and optimized piston, combustion chamber, and compression ratio designs, it reduces gas consumption by 6% compared to the previous generation. Covering a horsepower range of 530-630 with a peak torque of 2620N·m, it has undergone over 4 million kilometers of road tests and 40,000 hours of bench tests, ensuring efficient gas saving, reliability, and durability.
Alongside the new C-Series, Shaanxi Automobile Cummins also presented four core exhibition vehicles at the Wuhan Auto Show:

The M5000C 4×2 flat-floor truck (shown above) is equipped with a Cummins D4.5FE engine (280 horsepower, 850N·m torque) and a flat-floor cab, suitable for flexible multi-purpose scenarios such as express delivery.

The Shaanxi Automobile Cummins M5000C 6×4 tractor adopts a Cummins M10 engine. With a chassis weight as low as 7.2 tons, it achieves excellent vehicle and engine lightweight performance. Through data sharing and collaborative work between the engine and the vehicle, it reduces fuel consumption by 4.4% per 100 kilometers, delivering superior economy.

The Shaanxi Automobile Cummins G6000C 6×4 tractor features exclusive vehicle power matching technology, integrating the power system with vehicle dynamics to ensure strong power and efficient fuel saving. It also adopts more than ten maintenance-free and extended-service technologies, guaranteeing reliability and hassle-free use.

The Shaanxi Automobile Cummins X6000 tractor is a well-deserved “flagship” product. Equipped with a Cummins 15NFE natural gas engine, paired with a small-speed-ratio rear axle and ZF TraXon Generation II gearbox, it achieves extremely low fuel consumption and high efficiency. Leveraging the 15NFE engine’s high torque, it enables quick start-up in high gears and efficient cruising at low speeds, significantly improving transportation efficiency. Additionally, relying on 126 patents from Shaanxi Automobile and advanced technologies such as Cummins’ equivalent combustion technology, it saves 8% more gas than similar models, combining “strong power” with “low gas consumption”.

2025 marks Cummins’ 50th anniversary in China and the 20th anniversary of the joint venture between Shaanxi Automobile Heavy Duty Truck and Cummins. In this “double celebration year”, Shaanxi Automobile Cummins presents its best wishes with the all-new C-Series. It is believed that in the future, Shaanxi Automobile Group and Cummins will continue to take Xi’an Cummins as the core carrier, upgrade the global cooperation pattern, deepen synergy, and join hands with upstream and downstream partners to promote the value reconstruction of China’s commercial vehicle industry and support its high-quality development.
