Geely forizon Super VAN | WeRide’s Robotaxi Model Launches Large-scale Driverless Commercial Operation in Beijing

On February 24, 2025, WeRide, a globally leading autonomous driving technology company, officially obtained approval to launch the “driverless inside the vehicle” autonomous driving ride-hailing charging service (Robotaxi) in Beijing with its new-generation mass-produced Robotaxi model “GXR” built based on the Super VAN model under the Geely Farizon brand. The service scope covers the core area of Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, including important stations such as the urban high-speed railway station.

The GXR is the second driverless commercial operation Robotaxi model of WeRide launched in Beijing. It is also the first time that it has been put into large-scale driverless commercial application in China after being launched on the Uber platform in Abu Dhabi in December last year. In addition to urban roads, the WeRide GXR has also been approved to carry out Robotaxi commercial charging operations on expressway sections covering Beijing Daxing International Airport and other areas in Beijing.

While continuously exporting the steer-by-wire intelligent chassis technology to its partners, Geely Farizon Super VAN is also accelerating the research, development, iteration, and implementation of its self-developed intelligent driving models. As early as August 2024, the self-developed intelligent driving model of Geely Farizon Super VAN had already been approved for road test licenses for intelligent connected vehicles in both Hangzhou and Shenzhen, and the road intelligent driving tests were launched. The layout of Geely Farizon’s intelligent driving commercial operation is being implemented at an accelerating pace.

Benefiting from the L4-level redundant steer-by-wire chassis architecture developed from the ground up for the Geely Farizon Super VAN model, the open-style mobility space, and the world’s first hidden B-pillar design, the GXR has industry-leading L4-level driverless commercial operation capabilities on public roads.

The GXR puts passengers’ safety and experience first. The Super VAN model adopts highly integrated designs such as the CTP battery and the three-in-one electric drive, which maximizes the utilization of the vehicle space. It can provide the widest boarding and alighting space, the best riding space, and the largest luggage storage space in the Robotaxi industry for up to five passengers, fully meeting the travel needs of multiple people, such as visiting relatives and friends, traveling to and from the airport and railway station. It truly achieves a larger space with more ingenious design, ensuring comfort for all five seats.
